Liverpool: Music and Art

As much as you can think that what I only did when I went to visit my friend in Manchester was partying I have to disappoint you: on Saturday my friends and I went to Liverpool!
In the morning I surprisingly managed to wake up (after few hours of sleep), even if Cristiano tried to trick me making me listen to Tibetan music when I was trying to wake everybody up...an advice!?never ever listen to Monks' music if  you want to wake up!!
I have never heard something in my life that is so soporific: 3 seconds of listening to that and I was already gone.

Anyway at last I was able to get up from the bed, maybe because I always wanted to go to Liverpool and nothing would have stopped me from doing that.
So I woke up all the boys which was a serious effort :) but I made it!
We got the train from Piccadilly station and, only after 40 minutes, we were in Liverpool.

First place we went to, was the Walker museum which is very close to the railway station.
It is an Art Gallery, free entry, with some good neoclassic paintings and some interesting contemporary art ones.
The really cool thing was that a chamber orchestra was playing for the whole day in one room and another guy was singing and playing guitar in the hallway. It was the first time that I have visited a museum with music on the background which to me was one of the most pleasant experience ever.

When we went out the Walker museum it was getting kind of late so we quickly passed through the city centre till arrive at Albert's Dock and we went inside a photographic exposition in the Open eye gallery which was interesting; there was an exposition about photojournalism, but nothing particularly impressive.

Then we went back to the city centre and we ended up getting a pint at the Cavern, the most famous pub in Liverpool where the Beatles used to perform which is a very cosy place... there weren't lot of tourists as I expected, but there were mostly local people which is always good to me.
We also got a special performance by some drunk guys dressed up like it was halloween which was quite hilarious!

Then we went around browsing the vintage shops..well honestly I went shopping into the amazing vintage shops in the area while my boys were in a vinyls' store.
By the end of the day everyone was happy and we got back to Manchester even if , at first, we got into the wrong train, and we were about to end up maybe in Scotland :) but thanks to my friend Nico who asked some guys where was the train direct to; we quickly jumped off the wrong train and run into the right one with all the passengers staring at us while we were running away pissing ourselves off laughing!

Anyway Liverpool is a great city and it's so charming and culturally active that I would probably like to live there for a while.
It's definitely worth to visit : it is kind of a smaller London but it is also very similar to Dublin probably because of the Dock, the sea and the wind!
